Few sneakers have captured the imagination of the masses quite like the Nike MAG. First introduced in Back to the Future Part II (1989), the self-lacing high-tops worn by Marty McFly were pure sci-fi fantasy – until Nike made them real! Now, an ultra-rare 2016 pair of Nike MAGs has surfaced for auction, and it’s laced with more than just tech.
As part of Goldin’s Spring Goldin 100 event, this particular pair comes in the original oversized display case and includes autographs from three people fundamental to the MAG mythos: Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly), Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown), and legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield. Rather than signing the shoes themselves, all three signed a clear panel built into the presentation box – preserving the sneakers’ pristine condition while adding immense collector value.
